St. Michael's Church and St. Michael's Christian Academy invite you and your family to begin this year's season of Lent by joining us for two special events--our annual pancake supper and Ash Wednesday service. Please see the following for more information.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Bring the entire family for a homemade pancake supper on Tuesday, February 12, at 6:30 PM in St. Michael's fellowship hall (main room of preschool). We'll have all the fixings, including butter, syrup, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and hot chocolate, as well as sausages and orange juice.

Don't forget to bring your palm fronds from last Palm Sunday. As is the tradition of the Church, we will be burning the palm fronds to use for the ashes for our Ash Wednesday services.

This will be a fun time for both adults and children alike!

Ash WednesdayAsh Wednesday

On Wednesday, February 13, the Lenten season gets underway at St. Michael's Church with Ash Wednesday services. Ash Wednesday is a special day of the Christian calendar year that marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season of self-examination, repentance, self-denial, prayer, and meditation on the saving acts of Jesus Christ. As a reminder of our mortal nature, a priest will inscribe a cross of ashes onto the foreheads of those who wish to participate.

For your convenience, we offer three Ash Wednesday services at various times during the day. See the information below for service times.

Sincerely,

Bp. Douglas Kessler
