Due to an unexpected illness, Sean McDowell will not be able to make it to event scheduled for tomorrow. Please keep him in your prayers. We will update this page with a new date once he has recovered.  

 Please join us Saturday morning, December 8th, for "Making a Case for Christianity" with Sean McDowell, Ph.D. Sean is the author of a number of books including A New Kind of Apologist. He also collaborated with his father, Josh McDowell on the revised edition of Evidence That Demands a Verdict this past year. 

He will be speaking on apologetics and how to have conversations with non-Christians as well as taking questions from the audience. We will have pastries and coffee at 9am and begin the sessions at 9:30am, getting out just in time for lunch at 12:30pm. 

This is a free event so please invite your churches and friends. See attached flyer for more information and feel free to print them out to hand out to your churches!

We will also be streaming this event live @ cecwest.sermon.net for anyone who is not local and it will be archived there for later viewing.

There has never been a more important year to show D.C. just how active and alive the pro-life movement is in our country.  Despite what the media constantly portrays, pro-life Americans are making a difference in every state across this nation.  (And abortion advocates know it!)

The March for Life brings this important work together, in one city, as we pray, march, and make our voices known for the innocent preborn.

I Corinthians 15:58 says, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord."
 
Our nation is standing at a crossroads right now.  Through God's mercy, we have two new Supreme Court judges who could bring about incredible change.  We have a President who doesn't do everything in his power to defend abortion.  We have a Vice President who truly loves life.  God willing, there are some things that could truly change in this nation for the preborn. 
 
But we, the Church, must press in.  We must remain steadfast and immovable.  In the midst of such possible change, the preborn still cannot speak up and ask for protection and personhood.  It's up to us.
 
The March for Life gives us that much needed platform to speak out and stand firm.  Will you join us? 
 
On January 17th & 18th, we invite you to join CEC For Life in our nation's capitol as we once more dedicate ourselves (and our year) to saving the lives of preborn children.  Let's be the biggest voice we can in the city where our nation can decide to protect life. 
 
We have procured a block of rooms at the Cambria Suites DC for the nights of Jan 17th & 18th (Thurs & Fri).  In order to reserve a room, please call the hotel at 202.299.1188 and make your reservation under the group name "CECForLife."  Rooms are $159 per night (plus tax). 
 
ALSO: This year the Cambria is providing 4 Complimentary Continental Breakfasts for each morning with each room!
All reservations must be received by Dec. 27th, 2018.  Rooms are limited, so please be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible. Availability for the block is first come first serve.

Calling all youth, ages 11 & up!

Join us Monday, July 9 for Encounter Youth Night - a time for you to meet other CEC youth, grow closer to the Lord, and have tons of fun! We know that the Lord wants to be a part of this night and that He is going to show up in an amazing way!

A few details...

  1. There will be pizza! Who doesn't love pizza?!
  2. There will be a photo booth where you can be #supes #trendy with your #squad
  3. There will be games AND prizes!
  4. There will be FREE t-shirts designed by the lovely and talented Alyx House
  5. This will be a time to Encounter the Lord, encourage on another, and empower the next generation to pursue the Lord!

You don't want to miss out!!

Youth pastors, we just need one thing from you. We are asking that you talk to your youth and get them to RSVP to the event by June 1st in order to receive a free t-shirt. Of course they are still welcome to come if they sign up after this date, but they just won't be eligible for a t-shirt, which would be so sad! So encourage early sign ups!!
