We enjoy the richness of worship as it has blossomed and developed in the various historic traditions. Yet, as we engage in this rich and ancient worship, which may be filled with pageantry, procession, ornate clothing, signs, and symbols, we also keep ourselves open to the voice of the Spirit. We know that the Spirit gives life to worship, because the Spirit dwells among us and breathes life into our worship. There is a vibrancy to our worship, an expectancy that God will empower us to love our neighbors. When we gather for worship, we do so with joyful praise and reverent prayer, receiving God’s gifts of love, forgiveness, and empowerment, found in the preached Word and the Body and Blood of Jesus.

Space for prayer and silence are an intentional part of our service; however, spiritual silence is an internal discipline. Babies and children are always welcome, along with both their joyful cries and despairing laments (however, a cry room is also available in the back of the sanctuary for your convenience). We believe that we worship in sacred space because God has made it so, not because we because we are creating a sacred space with the right mood, music, or silence.

Our worship is grounded in scripture and deeply rooted in the traditions of the Church, liturgical and Spirit-filled, ancient and contemporary, reverent and joyful.
